Happenstance? I think not!

Happenstance? I reposted in FB today a quote by Sheila Burke (love the name BTW) " We don't meet anyone by accident. Pay attention to the happenstance." I have seen this happen sooo many times in my life! I truly believe this with all my heart. You know the saying that goes around every so often...people come into your life for a moment, a day, a season or some...forever and they all have a reason. Some you need for something very specific...or YOU need to help THEM with something very specific and then they are gone seemingly by happenstance...but not really. They served their purpose with you and then "poof" they were gone. Others can become lifelong friends or soulmates that you can not imagine your life without!
I was listening to a training video today and one of the questions asked went something like this.
What if the next person that you met and engaged in conversation...who asked you about what you do...joined your organization and wound up making you $5000 monthly in passive income? That would be great...RIGHT?  Conversely...what if you chose to ignore that person....for what ever reason...and later found out they had come to join your organization or one of the competitors and done remarkably well...simply because someone else had taken the time to care to find out about them and spark a passion in them that had lain dormant until that time. This is what you call OPPORTUNITY WASTED. Not happenstance as this was a concious choice on your part to ignore them for whatever reason.

Now, to be honest...we're all guilty of this...ignoring others regardless of signs exhibitied towards us. If not, our world would be a much better place indeed....if we all took the time to simply notice others and even give them a smile, a pat on the hand, an encouraging word, sent a card to someone who has been on your mind that you have not seen or heard from in a while...etc. I say for TODAY...LET US NOT IGNORE ANYONE! Anyone whom comes in contact with you today...let us not waste an opportunity to do good. Engage them in a smile, a conversation, or more...and see how much difference we can make in the world and in OUR lives.

I have friends that I would not have made had they not "simply" found me on the Internet to cater for an event. We would not have met any other way, I can assure you...but certainly am thankful that we did! Some have even become customers in my new business already and are referring me to their friends.
Once again...happenstance? No way! They were sent to me for sure! Thankfully, I have helped others the same way...that is the true beauty of networking! I LOVE to help others find a job, business partner, mentor, etc. by referring them and matching them up!!!!

So...our assignment is today: PAY ATTENTION!  THERE IS NO HAPPENSTANCE...YOUR ENCOUNTERS ARE ALL FOR A REASON!!!! Let's see how much good we can do TODAY!

I am raising my glass of Arnold Palmer (half tea, half lemonade with lots of ice) to YOUR success!

You Look MAAHHVELOUS!

As I begin my journey to my hairstylist for an overhaul (color, cut, style, etc), I can not help but smile with anticipation. This is a treat that everyone should experience as having a professional make you look your best is priceless! When you leave the salon, you are smiling, your confidence level is soaring, you feel you can take on the world...and truth be told, you can! Now...if we could just translate this into the business world....hmmm. Well...the good news is you can! By practicing 3 daily habits, you can transform yourself everyday at home. How? 1. Read the likes of John Maxwell (my personal favorite) as he is both uplifting and real about leadership:how to develop into one, grow, and mentor and foster others. 2. Daily devotion time: Pray, give thanks, and turn over your cares and concerns to God. After all, he formed you for a purpose. It is said that we all have everything inside us for our mission in life. We just need development. As a person undergoing that develop...

Judy and Sheila's Excellent Adventure: Home Stretch

Well...sad as we were to leave...we are also glad to be home safely! We left Lubbock by 10 this morning and were home safely a little after 4 today!  We chose the small town route...a scenic route...other than the Interstate and it was certainly more interesting viewing. I downloaded my pictures today and am very excited to report most are quite good and am going to print some picture books with my Creative Memories Consultant, Deb Ramsey. That way they are recorded for all time!!! My generous husband...for providing me this opportunity...and I were recapping the trip and how it has expanded my viewpoints on our America the Beautiful. Truly, we were in three of the most beautiful places in America for sure. The Grand Canyon...Sedona...and Santa Fe. All three different, but all three very special indeed. Then add in...The London Bridge, The Meteor Crater, Albuquerque, etc....and you have the best that the Southwest has to offer!!! I must admit...I was happy to see my Texas Sta...

Graduation Season

Well, it is Graduation Season now.... and we have been going to many graduation parties for our neighbors' children, our friends' children and grandchildren. This is a monumental day for any teenager, parent, or grandparent alike and there is nothing like that feeling! A feeling of accomplishment, a scary feeling of the unknown, excitement for the new life beginning, and prayers of thanksgiving for their lives. I remember this day like it was yesterday... Chad was excited, but probably not as excited as we were! Our only child graduating from High School with a College Scholarship and the world was going to be his oyster. It was pouring down rain that day, but nothing could dampen our spirits. We had a big party that weekend with family and friends, lots of food and drink, and of course, pictures to commemorate the day. As I look on him today, 10 years later, I am so very proud of the young man he is becoming. Hard lessons he has learned, and he has had more than his ...
